Totems & Signal Signs
As an alternative to the more traditional panel format, we have a range of interpretive monoliths which we call our ‘Totem’ range. These are generally manufactured in solid timber (most often Douglas fir) and may feature a range of interpretive content including tactile, interactive and graphic elements.
Although these do not have the space to allow topics to be covered in depth, they are ideal as a way of highlighting particular features and stimulating interest - perhaps by asking questions or suggesting things to look out for. They can be used in combination, as above, to explore topics in greater depth.
The images below were mock ups done for a project we carried out on a local nature reserve in Suffolk which incorporated 10 different 'Totems', each providing a focal point for outdoor lessons for children from the local primary school.

We also produce 'signal' signs which allow the interpretive message to remain hidden until someone chooses to access it.
