About Us

Curraghs Wildlife Park, Isle of Man
Ure Walks interpretation, North Yorkshire

The Osprey Company is a family firm which was first established in the Scottish Borders town of Coldstream in 1977. In 2019, we moved our workshop to the village of Etal in North Northumberland.

We specialise in the design and manufacture of interpretation and visitor management signs for nature reserves, heritage sites and visitor attractions - signs which need to blend sympathetically with their surroundings whilst getting over important conservation or educational messages.

Over 45 years, we have built up a wealth of experience in this field, with many hundreds of projects completed for clients throughout the U.K. and further afield, including national and international conservation bodies, many local authorities, trusts, private estates and businesses involved in the fields of heritage, conservation, tourism and leisure.

We have also developed a wide range of skills and techniques which allow us to produce signage in a variety of styles.  This enables us to adapt and combine processes to design signs and interpretation which best suit the needs of the specific localities in which they are to be sited.  We also pride ourselves on being innovative in introducing new techniques and approaches.

We possess all the skills within our business to take a project from initial research, through design, artwork, including map design, print and production.

We have well-equipped workshops for woodwork and manufacturing plus our own large format digital printing machines which give top quality graphics suitable for longterm outdoor use.   Having all of these facilities in house allows us full control of the quality of the work we produce.  Most of our production methods have been proved by longterm use on sites throughout the country.
